Life of I: Our Generations Past and Future

  • Dixon Hall Neighbourhood Services

We are pleased to invite you to a storytelling screening showcasing 7 engaging, fun and emotional intergenerational stories between youth and seniors.

Life of I: Our Generations Past and Future is our first community project that aims to combine the art of storytelling with fostering social inclusion for Toronto seniors. Over the past 5 months, volunteer youth have been working with members of Dixon Hall Community Services to co-create digital stories that capture the memories and perspectives of the seniors.

Come and show your support for storytelling, aimed to deepen community, invite solidarity and challenge dominant narratives through intentional dialogue.

At Life of I, we are proud of the storytelling community we have built as well as the insights and the friendships that have evolved through intergenerational creative collaboration. We are looking forward to showcasing our digital stories at this event and inspiring support, solidarity and empathy across generations.

To better support our process, we will have two raffle tickets from Racounteurs, a storytelling monthly festival, hosting a wide range of topics and inspiration at Tranzac Bar.

This is a free/in kind donation event taking place at Dixon Hall’s heritage chapel in CabbageTown. Everyone is welcome. You can get there by College Streetcars going eastbound - get off at Sherbourne St - or Parliament 65 bus. Just walk a bit west from there.

There are lots of places to park your car or bike. This event takes place in a physical accessible space with zero tolerance for discrimination and disrespect. Complimentary light snacks and coffee/tea will be served.
